"The Pearl Diver's Daughter and the Cowrie Necklace"

As an Emirati illustrator who values her culture and Arabian heritage, Hessa Al Mehairi was thrilled to illustrate a young adult book titled "The Pearl Diver's Daughter and the Cowrie Necklace", by Maitha Al Khayat. The illustrations demonstrate the rich heritage of pearl diving in the UAE, mixed with fantasy and ancient myths. The book was published in 2024, and has won Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature on the same year.
